• Siran has suffered a horrible tragedy. An unprecedented number of 6 dragonrider pairs were lost during a recent 'Fall. Wingrider D'vron and blue Ezerath, wingrider T'mil and brown Dalanth, WLM2 T'rias and brown Irazith, wingleader G'von and bronze Pranith, and 2 weyrling pairs died protecting fair Pern. They will be remembered.
  
  
• Perhaps even more devastating was the resulting death of one of Siran's junior queens, Kalinath. Kalinath's rider Rhianne died in a freak accident, and Kalinath went Between. In her agony, she inadvertently crushed her clutch that was hardening on the Sands; the clutch had included a gold egg. The weyr grieves at the loss.
